Swings - Yeah, Mood swings

Have you ever felt relieved at the sight of a positive energy wave arriving at the doorstep of your mind ? Probably yes. Have you ever dreaded the next wave of negativity ? Probably yes. It's hard to calculate the exact dates of their arrival but yes, they do arrive silently often, and leaves one feeling good or bad in the aftermath. Why do these situations arise ? Due to multiple reasons. Let's not delve deeper into that. Perhaps these are things n conditions hard to ignore or let go. So, why not make peace with them n co exist peacefully ? Yes, 'm not talking shit, for people like Winston Churchill have had similar conditions and he devised his own way to deal with it. His periods of darkness was named. Yes, named the 'black dog'. Reason? It is that transferring one's negativity to a second person in theory helps one stay away from blaming oneself at times and that actually had positive effects on his  future acts during his entire lifetime. Whenever he was low, he used to say that his black dog was responsible for his unhappiness and not himself. It relieved him of a lot of the stress caused due to self pity and other similar factors.

What I believe is that life has it's own terms n conditions and more often than not one has to come to  terms with those. The quicker, the better. No one could escape those but only those who have worked hard and diligently enough to overcome the stress caused by those. That means no escape but a better deal. I feel that there are certain points that might actually help one deal with mood swings, negativity and depression. Trying to fight a monster might lead to more bad results when done without proper equipment. But proper street smart skills to tackle those in a band-aid quick fix manner to live for a moment, howsoever short it is, just for the sake of that very moment again, can actually help a lot when used regularly, inducing a notion of positivity in one's self. Let's go to those points. I hope that most of you can relate to as why I have added these points.

  • Exercise
  • Avoide junk food (Not even once? )
  • Avoide negative people
  • Think only when necessary (Negative thoughts ensure more negativity)
  • Come to terms with your weaknesses
  • Do not procastinate
  • Love animals , indulge with pets
  • Sleep well
  • Avoid Smoking
  • Drink less
  • Pure music
  • Answer people looking right at their eyes
  • Meet up good friends(Make a few)
  • Learn to analyse people
  • Do not be happy being ignorant
  • Care for your parents
  • Do not try to hate anybody, ignoring is much better
  • If you are in a bad relationship, try to make peace with your partner or just avoid him/her (Helps, toughbut possible)...Think of the long terms effects of his/her presence or absence and decide soon
  • Being indecisive makes one anxious, try to be decisive always(Harder but not impossible)
  • Meditate ( I am planning to start it from tomorrow morning)
  • Read religious books selectively not for being a monk but for learning from the age old traditions which might have some treasure hidden that might work out well with your problems and help you come up with solutions
  • Participate in politics ( At least keep yourself updated)
  • Breathe well
  • Analyse yourself more often
  • Smile
  • Do not go near your bed unless it's time to sleep
  • Try to follow all these points and some of yours too. Of course be selective but be smart with that :)
All the best. Let's live and not think of the alternative.

Dealing with conflicting thoughts

Hi,
Came across this article on reddit. This appears to be a real eye opener for those who have supposedly concrete reasons to stay negative. Please go through the linked article :)

http://www.thetadprinciple.com/1/post/2014/01/you-want-enlightenment-and-liberation-stop-identifying-with-your-thoughts.html

Spend sometime going through this post before proceeding further !

Life is not about money (for you, right now, it may appear otherwise, but believe me, it won't be so forever).
Life is not about physical pleasures (Age will corrode your abilities and desires and you will end up gasping for breathe and peace before feeling about other carnal derivatives).
Life is not about being indifferent.
Life is not about procrastinating.
Life is not about contemplating.
Life is not about wheeling and dealing.
Life is not about trying to establish superiority.
Life is not about earning materials at the cost of peace and family and conscience.
Life is not about feeling low.

Life is about YOU, ME and OTHERS.

Let's deal with broken relations, hungry souls and our free flowing minds before trying to do anything else. Mental peace comes from within and outside. Without either, the equation remains unsettled. Though, quick fix patches might ease our agony, but time takes its toll on every imbalanced act of this world and it is not an exception. Let's take time but find the best solution to live peacefully and happily on this earth.

The intention of this blog is not to be didactic and offending. I am not affiliated to any particular religion and intend not to praise or disrespect any of the multitude of those present on earth. Instead, I intend to bring every religious and non religious but beautifully drawn basic human thoughts and philosophical aspect to accumulate as a blob on a single platform.

I will share thoughts, quotes, articles, meditative processes, and other ideas that might help somebody, including myself at some point of life to deal with the never ending moral battles that we have to encounter everyday.

Hope that you will enjoy reading the blog as much as I will love writing it. Feedback and comments are wholeheartedly welcomed :)
